The government has provided further clarity on the updates released since June 8, 2020 and it’s good news for those wishing to reunite with their loved ones in Canada!
TRV & eTA processing and ease on travel to Canada.
IRCC has confirmed the information regarding resumed processing of TRV and eTA applications was incorrectly posted on the governments website and has since been removed. In addition, as of June 8, 2020, at 11:59 EDT, immediate family members will be able to enter Canada.

April 30, 2020 - Government processing fees increase.
The new regulation will come in to effect on April 30, 2020, at 9 AM and is relevant to all permanent immigration programs. Completed applications received before April 30, 2020, will be processed in accordance with the current fee schedule.
Processing changes for Visas due to COVID-19.
Canada is suspending the processing of non-essential visitor visa applications. This suspension will also apply to some eTA applications.
